Q. Does MSI have a catalog of industrial ultrasound transducers?

A. MSI does not maintain a stock of industrial ultrasound transducers, but instead designs and manufactures transducers to meet specific customer requirements. MSI produces piezocomposite transducers to meet the needs of customers who have applications that require faster ring-down and higher sensitivity than conventional ceramic designs can provide.

Q. Will MSI manufacture customer-designed ultrasound transducers?

A. MSI has excellent manufacturing capabilities for customer-designed ultrasound transducers, whether or not these utilize piezocomposite as the active element. Since we specialize in ultrasound transducer manufacturing, customers often save money and improve quality by outsourcing transducer manufacturing to MSI. Our established relationships with our approved suppliers can enable cost savings through economies of scale. We also have the test equipment and engineering specialists to troubleshoot manufacturing or assist customers with their next generation designs.

Q. Does MSI manufacture to UL-standards and is MSI ISO-9000 compliant?

A. MSI does manufacture products to UL standards and follows procedures consistent with ISO-9000 standards. We have excellent quality assurance systems and can implement special QA and audit procedures for those customers who need them.

Q. Does MSI manufacture medical ultrasound transducers?

A. MSI's piezocomposite transducers and arrays are an excellent choice for many therapeutic ultrasound applications. Contact the factory to discuss your requirements.

Q. Can MSI produce large ultrasound transducer arrays for NDE systems?

A. MSI's piezocomposite injection molding technology facilitates cost-effective manufacturing of large area arrays. MSI can assist customers to design and manufacture large arrays for rapid 2D or 3D ultrasonic scanning systems. MSI has patented designs for piezocomposite roller transducer arrays that are capable of rapid volumetric scanning of in-process materials for quality assurance and other applications. These can be adapted and manufactured to meet specific customer requirements for frequency, ultrasound penetration, wear resistance, resolution and other parameters.

Q. Can MSI's piezocomposite transducers operate at high drive levels?

A. MSI's piezocomposite transducers are capable of continuous operation at high drive levels over long periods.

Q. Over what frequency ranges can MSI's transducers operate?

A. MSI piezocomposite transducers are capable of operation from 25kHz to over 2MHz, with an operating frequency "sweet-spot" of 50 kHz to 1MHz.
