Eight members of MSI's management and technical staff received recognition today for completing Six Sigma Specialist training provided by Raytheon Company's Integrated Defense Systems Division. The awards were made at a ceremony held by Raytheon IDS' President, Dan Smith, at the division headquarters in Tewksbury, Massachusetts.
Les Bowen, MSI President, commented: "Raytheon's Six Sigma training has made an essential contribution to MSI's overall capacity for continuous improvement in all areas of its operations. As part of MSI Continuous Improvement, MSI has also completed lean manufacturing training with the Massachusetts Manufacturing Extension Partnership, and is committed to ISO 9001:2000 certification in 2007."
In addition to MSI, Raytheon provided Six Sigma training to numerous small businesses under a program offered by the Smaller Business Association of New England (www.SBANE.org) as part of Raytheon IDS' outreach to small businesses. MSI's lean manufacturing training was completed as part of the Massachusetts' State-funded SBANE Program.
